Energizing Africa was launched in 2024 as a dynamic platform dedicated to fostering innovation, collaboration, connectivity, and impactful partnerships between Africa and Europe in the energy sector, with a focus on renewable energy solutions. This initiative is spearheaded by Slovenia Cameroon Business Club, powered by the Republic of Slovenia, and supported by key institutions including the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), the Ministry of Economy, Tourism and Sport of the Republic of Slovenia, SPIRIT Slovenia, and AFRIPI (Intellectual Property Rights and Innovation in Africa), University of Maribor Faculty of Law, ENERGAP. It emphasizes partnerships between Africa and the European Union (EU) to drive sustainable energy advancements. The event is a response to the pressing need for sustainable energy solutions globally, aligning with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 7) and the African Union’s Agenda 2063. Energizing Africa 2025 serves as a nexus for dialogue, innovation, and investment, focusing on partnerships that enhance energy access, sustainability, and technological innovation.
With Ljubljana, the Green Capital of Europe, hosting its second edition in 2025, after Maribor and Douala, Energizing Africa facilitates dialogue between industry leaders, entrepreneurs, policymakers, Investors and innovators to enhance energy access and technological advancement across both continents.
