Ludo Meyersoen

Ludo Moyersoën is a seasoned expert in microfinance, business development, and international cooperation, with over two decades of experience designing and implementing sustainable, community-driven projects across Europe and Africa. His work focuses on leveraging the potential of diaspora communities to drive local development and energy transitions in underserved regions.

As a “social miner,” Ludo actively engages with diaspora communities in Brussels, building trust-based networks that channel philanthropic capital and entrepreneurial support to high-impact, grassroots energy initiatives. His approach prioritizes inclusive development, enabling communities to take ownership of renewable energy solutions while generating long-term socio-economic benefits.

Ludo is also a co-leader of UP! Energise, a pioneering initiative that empowers diaspora members to invest in renewable energy projects. The initiative, piloted in Cameroon and expanded to Senegal, is backed by the Belgian non-profit Urban Product and supported by strategic partners such as the Signify Foundation and Foundation Synergie Renouvelable.

With a strong background in social profit project development, Ludo specializes in designing match-funding mechanisms, mobilizing resources across Europe including Germany, France, Belgium, the UK, and the USA to scale renewable energy solutions. He works at the intersection of social innovation, diaspora finance, and green technology, aiming to build resilient ecosystems for energy access and local autonomy.
